Prevention and Education
Campbellsville University uses a holistic approach to sex discrimination prevention and awareness by providing engaging education, training, and promoting culture change within a curricular framework.
This approach is based on a social ecological model, with identified goals for each of four levels of engagement, including:
- Individual
- Goal: Introduction to CU Sexual Misconduct & Title IX Policies for students and employees
- Relationship
- Goal: Leveraging interpersonal relationships to promote prevention
- Campus
- Goal: Making prevention a campus priority
- Community
- Goal: Campus policy and community engagement
The social ecological model recognizes that individual and relational education is critical to affect meaningful and sustainable campus and community change and engagement. Additionally, the types of trainings and events conducted at each of the four levels is informed by three institutional values: fellowship, scholarship, and leadership. See Figure 1 below.
