Our New Student Orientation is designed to help you transition smoothly into university life by providing the resources, support, and connections you need to succeed. During orientation, you'll explore campus, meet fellow students, connect with faculty and staff, and learn about academic, social, and extracurricular opportunities available to you.

The New Student Orientation at Campbellsville University is designed to help incoming students transition successfully into university life. The program provides essential information, resources, and support to ensure that students are prepared and confident as they begin their academic journey. Through interactive sessions, campus tours, and opportunities to connect with peers, faculty, and staff, students will gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of the CU community.
Orientation is not only about learning the logistics of campus life but also about building lasting relationships, discovering opportunities for involvement, and developing a strong foundation for success during their time at Campbellsville University. We are committed to helping every student feel welcomed, supported, and excited for the road ahead.
Welcome Session:
- Activity: Kickoff event with university leaders and faculty welcoming students to CU.
- Purpose: To introduce students to the CU community and set the tone for the orientation experience.
Campus Tours:
- Activity: Guided tours of the campus, including key academic buildings, student services, dining halls, and recreational facilities.
- Purpose: To familiarize students with their new environment and where essential services are located.
Academic Advising Sessions:
- Activity: One-on-one or group sessions with academic advisors to discuss course registration, degree plans, and academic expectations.
- Purpose: To help students plan their class schedules and get advice on their academic journey.
Meet & Greet with Faculty & Staff:
- Activity: Informal sessions where students can meet professors and staff members from various departments.
- Purpose: To build connections with faculty and staff who can support students throughout their college experience.
Social & Icebreaker Activities:
- Activity: Fun team-building exercises and games that help students connect with one another.
- Purpose: To foster relationships and help students feel comfortable in their new community.
Financial Aid & Scholarship Information:
- Activity: A session providing information on understanding financial aid packages, scholarships, and managing tuition payments.
- Purpose: To help students understand their financial aid options and prepare for managing tuition and fees.
Campus Resources Overview:
- Activity: Presentations or informational sessions about important campus resources like the library, health services, counseling, tutoring, and career services.
- Purpose: To ensure students know where to find support and how to access essential services.
Student Clubs & Organizations Fair:
- Activity: A fair where student organizations, clubs, and volunteer opportunities are presented to new students.
- Purpose: To encourage involvement in extracurricular activities and campus life beyond academics.
Technology & Campus Systems Introduction:
- Activity: Training on using CU's online platforms, including the learning management system (LMS), email, and student portals.
- Purpose: To ensure students are comfortable using the technology needed for academic success and communication.
Health & Wellness Session:
- Activity: An introduction to health and wellness resources available on campus, such as the wellness center, counseling services, and fitness facilities.
- Purpose: To promote physical and mental well-being throughout students’ time at CU.
Parent & Family Orientation (Optional):
- Activity: A session designed for parents and family members to learn about how they can support their student’s transition to college.
- Purpose: To provide families with the tools and information to assist their student’s adjustment to university life.
Closing Ceremony & Send-Off:
- Activity: A celebratory session that marks the end of orientation, with motivational speakers and a ceremonial farewell.
- Purpose: To wrap up the orientation experience with a sense of excitement and inspiration for the first day of classes.

- Confirm your participation in New Student Orientation by completing the online registration.
- Set Up CU Accounts
- Activate your CU email and student portal to access important information.
- Review Your Class Schedule
- Check your class schedule and make sure you're prepared for your courses.
- Purchase Textbooks & Supplies
- Order textbooks and gather school supplies from the CU Bookstore.
- Plan Housing & Move-In
- For on-campus students, prepare for move-in day; for commuters, check parking options.
- Complete Health & Wellness Requirements
- Ensure your immunizations are up to date and required health forms are submitted.
- Pack for College Life
- Pack essentials for orientation and your dorm room (if applicable). Don't forget to stop by the Tiger Shop to get CU gear!
- Review Orientation Schedule
- Familiarize yourself with the orientation events and timelines.
Each new student, prior to enrollment at the Campbellsville campus of Campbellsville University (CU), must complete placement testing in both English and mathematics. The placement testing requirement applies to any new student (freshman or transfer student) who is enrolling at CU with less than 24 cumulative earned college credit hours.
In order to be exempt from this placement test requirement, a student must provide proof that demonstrates proficiency in English and mathematics prior to enrollment in courses. Students are encouraged to submit documentation showing proficiency to the enrollment office as a part of the application process.
