Dr. Davenport graduated with a DNP in nursing administration and leadership and a MS in nursing from Creighton University. She completed a BS in nursing from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a practical nursing diploma from Central Technical Community College. She is certified in nursing executive, advanced from the American Nurses Credentialling Center and has used her years of leadership experience to inspire nurses to grow and flourish in the profession of nursing. She has taught nursing leadership, nursing identity, and community/population health nursing as an adjunct instructor. This followed her retirement from nursing practice during which she worked as a staff and charge nurse, staff development educator, and nursing executive and healthcare system chief operating and executive officer.

Dr. Davenport is involved with many professional organizations including being the current president of the Kentucky Organization of Nurse Leaders and a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, Delta Psi Chapter of SIGMA, the Kentucky Nurses Association and the Kentucky League for Nursing. Dr. Davenport has participated on boards and advisory groups, including her present vice chair role on the Danville/Boyle County Planning and Zoning Commission.

Dr. Davenport is married to Mike and they have a shared interest in college football and the Chiefs. She is also a fan of the Reds and Cubs.
