Dr. Roger J. Huston is the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Relations and Rural Advancement and an Assistant Professor of Management at Campbellsville University. He is an Affiliate Faculty member at Regent University with the Robertson School of Government and an Adjunct Faculty member at Liberty University with the Helms School of Government. Dr. Huston is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Faith Works Consulting – a management consulting and leadership coaching company – where he works with nonprofit organizations, social enterprises and small businesses. Dr. Huston serves as President of the Global City Mission Initiative and as a member of the Board of Directors for Campbellsville Main Street. 

Previously, Dr. Huston was the Dean of the School of Business and Leadership at Kentucky Christian University. At KCU, he led the school through program changes targeting academic rigor and student performance, resulting in increased critical thinking, problem-solving and research and evaluation skills. Dr. Huston also led the school to a budget increase, a student enrollment increase, a student retention rate increase, a student graduation rate increase and an increase in the number of students graduating with university honors. He was a board member for Love Thy Neighborhood, a Louisville, Kentucky, faith-based nonprofit organization focusing on urban mission programs for young adults. He was previously a member of the Iowa Board of Athletic Training and the Des Moines Area Religious Council. 

Roger graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. with Honors in Religion from Simpson College.  He then earned a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale University.  Roger also holds a Master of Public Administration from Iowa State University and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Delaware.  He will earn an Ed.M. in Higher Education Leadership from Harvard University in May.

Roger is married to Dr. Shawna Huston, a veterinarian who oversees 16 veterinary hospitals as a Regional Director of Operations with Heartland Veterinary Partners. They have two sons, Noah and Micah, who attend Taylor County Schools. Roger enjoys hiking and lifting weights. Before moving to Kentucky from Pennsylvania, they owned and operated a small farm and provided organic produce and maple and walnut syrup to local food pantries.
