Hamlet/ Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead - Audition Details
Auditions October 24th Callbacks 25th 6-9pm
If cast in one production one would be in both shows.
Hamlet Synopsis:
“Hamlet” is a tragedy by William Shakespeare that follows the young Prince Hamlet
of Denmark as he grapples with grief over his father's death and the hasty remarriage
of his mother to his uncle. Hamlet is visited by the ghost of his father, who reveals
he was murdered by Hamlet's uncle, Claudius, now the new king. Consumed by a desire
for revenge, Hamlet struggles with inner conflicts and feigns madness to uncover the
truth. The play explores themes of betrayal, madness, and mortality, leading to a
tragic conclusion with multiple deaths, including Hamlet's own demise.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead Synopsis: “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” is a play by Tom Stoppard that offers a unique perspective on Shakespeare's “Hamlet.” The story revolves around Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters from “Hamlet,” as they navigate a world where they seem to have little control over their own fate. The duo is caught in a web of existential confusion, grappling with their identities and uncertain about their purpose. Stoppard explores themes of free will, the absurdity of life, and the role of individuals in a larger narrative. The play combines wit, humor, and philosophical musings, providing a fresh and thought-provoking take on the events of “Hamlet” from the perspective of its seemingly inconsequential characters.
