Campbellsville University’s Limited Medical Radiography Program prepares students to perform basic radiologic procedures under the supervision of licensed professionals. Through a combination of classroom learning and clinical practice, students gain skills in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and producing diagnostic images.
Upon completion, students are eligible to sit for state certification exams, opening doors to careers in clinics, urgent care centers, and physician offices. This program offers a quick and effective path to a career in medical imaging.

Program Overview:
The Limited Medical Radiography (LMR) Program at Campbellsville University is a certificate program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform basic radiologic procedures. This program combines classroom instruction, laboratory courses, and hands-on clinical rotations in various healthcare facilities. Students will gain expertise in using radiologic equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring safety during imaging procedures.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive a certificate and become eligible to take the LMR certification exam. They will also be qualified to apply for licensing in the state of Kentucky. LMRs are trained to work in diverse clinical settings, including physician offices, urgent care centers, and outpatient clinics, providing an essential role in diagnostic imaging and patient care.
Program Highlights:
- Program Duration: The Limited Medical Radiography program consists of 1004 clock hours and can be completed in approximately 12 months.
- Classroom & Hands-On Learning: The program includes a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory courses, and clinical rotations at various healthcare facilities to provide a well-rounded learning experience.
- Bi-Term Schedule: Students follow a bi-term schedule, with a new set of classes every 8 weeks, allowing for consistent progress and skill development.
- Class Schedule: Classes meet four days a week from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, providing a structured yet manageable schedule for students.
- Clinical Hours: Clinical hours are scheduled on varying days Monday-Friday, with times ranging from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, depending on the operating hours of the clinical facility.
- Enrollment Periods: Enrollment is available every August and January, with a maximum of 15 students accepted into the program each semester, ensuring personalized attention and focused learning.
