CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's School of Theology is featuring two lectures Sept. 10 and Sept. 12. Both are free and open to the public.
The first is at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10 in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville.
Dr. Jarvis Williams, associate professor of New Testament and Greek, will speak on “Don't Believe or Preach a False Gospel: But With is the True Gospel? Paul's Letter to the Galatians as a Test-Case.”
Williams, who has served at CU since January 2008, will focus on what Paul actually says about the gospel in his letter to the Galatians. His definition will be Paul's definition in Galatians.
Williams said the purpose of his lecture is to “stimulate students and faculty to think about a central question: namely, what is the gospel? Also, the purpose will be to move us to love, live and preach the gospel.”
The School of Theology will sponsor a second lecture by Dr. Lynn Cohick, professor of New Testament at Wheaton College, who will speak Wednesday, Sept. 12 on the topic: “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews: The King and His Cross.”
She will speak from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., also in the Banquet Hall.
