CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky, -Dr. Daniel Corrie Shull, senior pastor of Burnett Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, will speak at Campbellsville University's chapel service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, in Randsell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
Shull's address will kick off the spring chapel series at Campbellsville University, and it is also the annual Martin Luther King Jr. chapel at the university that highlights the life, legacy and teachings of King.
“Dr. Shull brings so much to the chapel experience,” Jamie Lawrence, executive director of ministry and church outreach, said. “He is an amazing pastor and accomplished scholar. I am thankful; that he is a friend of Campbellsville University and willing to invest in our chapel experience for the sake of our students.”
Under Shull's leadership, Burnett Avenue Baptist Church's congregation from the addition of hundreds of families into church membership, creating relevant ministries, implementing 21st century technology and embracing new and dynamic ways of engaging ministry for the purposes of life transformation, according to the church's website.
He was the pastor of First Baptist Church in Campbellsville from Feb. 17, 2007 until March 2011.
Alongside preaching and providing leadership to his congregation, he spends time with his two children, Daniel Harrison and Zoe Elizabeth; along with giving back to his community by being on a number of boards for community organizations and institutions of higher education and mentors the youth.
Shull is the author of “Detours to Greatness,” a novel that the publisher, MMGI Publishers House, calls, “Inspirational messages for everyone.”
Shull holds degrees from Fisk University, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School and is an adjunct professor for Louisville area colleges.
Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.
