CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Lexington, Ky.'s the Rev. Ron Edmondson, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, brought attention to the need of obedience at Randsdell Chapel on the campus of Campbellsville University Feb, 4.

“Noah did everything just as God commanded Him,” Edmondson said, quoting Genesis 6:22 (ESV).

“We have something inside of us that resists obedience,” he said.

Edmondson sought to remind CU of obedience to God. There has recently been an increase in partial obedience. It is believed that half-hearted obedience is good enough.

“Obedience indicates our trust in God,” Edmondson said.

Our trust in the Lord is indicated by the amount we obey Him, argued Edmondson. If we obey God in easy seasons of life, we only trust God partially. If we trust God fully, we obey God in hardship. Edmondson urged the community to measure the weight of obedience against their trust. He called into question even the smallest ways obedience could take place.

Closing, Edmonton reminded the community that obedience was always rewarded.

“As we live in obedience, God rewards us every time,” Edmondson said.

Elaborating, Edmondson said God's ways are not our ways. Rewards may not look like what we want them too. God knows better then us. Obedience means full trust without alter or delay. Rewards shouldn't be motivation.

Steven Adams delivered special music. Alayna Clifton, a junior at CU, gave a word of testimony. Dr. Scott Wigginton, professor of pastoral ministries and counseling, introduced Edmondson.
