CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - This year's Homecoming will be back in-person after almost two years in lockdown due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
The new Mass Communication Center, 901 Meader St., will open to the public on Friday, Oct. 8, when there will be come-and-go tours from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Afterward, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3 p.m.
The state-of-the-art center consists of two TV studios, one radio station, three recording booths, three computer labs and five classrooms that are open for students and faculty use.
Visitors will see the new home of 88.7 FM The Tiger, Campus Times office and WLCU-TV studio and a lounge, classrooms and faculty offices.
After the tour, everyone is welcome to come together for the official grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Mass Communication Center.
Dr. H. Keith Spears, interim president of Campbellsville University, will be leading the ribbon cutting along with several other faculty and staff. The ceremony will have several speakers including staff, faculty, past students and more.
“It has been a dream come true and a sign of growth,” Stan McKinney, chair of the new Department of Mass Communication, said.
