CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Bart O'Reilly, interdisciplinary artist, is holding an art exhibit at Campbellsville University's Pence-Chowning Art Gallery at 205 University Drive, Campbellsville, through Friday, Nov. 16.

He will lead a talk about interdisciplinary art as a part of the CU Art & Design Professional Development Series which will be in the Art Building at 3 p.m. until about 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 16 at 205A University Drive, Campbellsville. This is free and open to students and the public.

A reception for him will be from 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. Nov. 16 in the Gallery, and he will participate in Poetry Night at Harden Coffee, 202 E. Main St., Campbellsville, from 8 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. The poetry event is hosted by the Taylor County Public Library and Justy Engle, assistant professor of English at CU. He will have work on display at Harden Coffee.

O'Reilly is originally from Dublin, Ireland. He has shown work in Baltimore, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York and has also shown work in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

He is a 2000 BFA graduate from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin and a 2012 MFA graduate from MICA. He teaches at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Harford Community College.

O'Reilly has also been awarded grants from The Baltimore Social Innovation Journal and has received an Individual Artists Award from The Baltimore Office of Promotions and the Arts.

O'Reilly works in drawing, painting, video, poetry and installation. All are captured with a collective earthy and organic style. With his wide variety of art forms, he is able to question reality with his artistry as well as study the fluidity of art and its susceptibility to change.

“Personal content moves, rises and falls. It becomes color, line or verse. It forgets and remembers its original intention as it leaves a door open for the next moment, always in a state of becoming. Tomorrow's painting and poem will be entirely different,” O'Reilly said.
