CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Independent
game developer Devin Morse, son of Campbellsville University assistant
professor of art William Morse, will be at Campbellsville University as a guest
speaker on Thursday, Feb. 26 with a session open to the public.
He will speak at 2 p.m. Feb. 26 in classroom 102 of the
Art Building at 205A University Drive, Campbellsville. The presentation will
last approximately one hour.
Morse
is working as an animator for the independent game called “Jump Tanks” under
lead designer Casey Holtz who worked on various Tomb Raider games.
He has also
studied under various industry game developers such as David Goodwine and
Steven Goodale. Goodwine's credits include “The Mexican” starring Brad Pitt and
Julia Roberts and “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King PC Game.” Goodale
has worked on several 3DO games such as “Army Men: Sarge's Heroes.
Morse is also the lead developer for
two independent games in development: “The Initiative” for PC and “DAM! The
Official Anti-Beaver Game” for mobile. He has also created a short online game,
“Steel Rain,” that can be played on Newgrounds.com.
Morse earned his Bachelor of Fine
Arts in Game Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Calif.
Morse will also speak in his father's
Understanding Art class on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Morse has a brother, Dylan, who is
a junior at Campbellsville University.
“Digital gaming design is an area that
students are really quite interested in learning about now,” Linda Cundiff, chair of the CU Department of Art and
professor of art, said.
