CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Dr. Frank S. Page, president and chief executive officer of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee in Nashville, Tenn., will be the guest speaker for Campbellsville University's Baptist Heritage Lecture Series on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.
He will also be speaking on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
Both events are free and open to the public.
It is the mission of Campbellsville University through the Baptist Heritage Lecture Series to promote the study, discussion and research of Baptist historical events, theological distinctives, traditions and leaders who are unique and essential to understanding who Baptists are.
Page has been president and chief executive officer of the Southern Baptist Convention
Executive Committee since Oct. 1, 2010. He oversees the convention work of over 46,000
churches and more than 16 million members.
He was president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 2006 until 2008.
Before moving to Nashville, Page served as vice president for the Evangelization Group at the North American Mission Board in Alpharetta, Ga. He has also served as pastor for Taylors First Baptist Church, Taylors, S.C., and churches in Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina for the past 34 years.
Page's last two churches, Warren Baptist Church and Taylors First Baptist Church, more than doubled in size and began missions and ministries which impacted the region and beyond.
Page has also been an interim pastor since taking the position in Nashville. He has been interim pastor at First Baptist Church, North Augusta, S.C. and First Baptist Church of Jackson, Miss.
Page was born in North Carolina and educated at Gardner Webb University and Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He is a recipient of the bachelor
of science degree with honors as well as the master of divinity and Ph.D. degrees.
He is an author and has traveled extensively and spoken on every continent.
Page is married to Dayle Gibson Page of Huntersville, N.C. They have three daughters
and three grandsons.
Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and explosure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.
All chapels are open to the public free of charge and are televised live on WLCU (Comcast Cable channel 10 and digital channel 23.0)
