CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky., — Campbellsville University's Tiger Marching Band will host its annual Band Day Saturday, Nov. 3 in conjunction with the home football game against Faulkner University.

At this event, high school band members from across Kentucky come to Campbellsville University to march with the university band during the pre-game show. The students experience what a full day of what college band can be through rehearsals and practicing for the performance.

“Students will register at 8 o'clock Saturday morning,” said Jennifer Tinnell, director of bands. “There will be an indoor rehearsal to work on the music for the day. About mid-morning, everyone will go to the stadium where we will learn our drill for the pre-game show. After lunch, they will dress in their band uniform and meet up to march into the stadium together.

“They will perform the pre-game show with us, including the ‘Star Spangled Banner,'” Tinnell said, “Then they will sit with us in the stands and play during the game.”

Tinnell said Campbellsville University has been hosting Band Day since before she came to the university in 2001. “We feel the event has been very successful and we want to keep it going in that positive direction,” she said.

The football game begins at 1:30 p.m. at Citizens Bank Field at Finley Stadium.
