CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Campbellsville University Piano Ensemble will give its spring concert on Thursday, April 9 at 8 p.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall in the Gosser Fine Arts Center at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.
The concert is free and open to the public.
This semester's ensemble includes four undergraduate students: Steven Adams of Bardstown, Ky.; Colleen Ames of Elizabethtown, Ky.; Yun Jiang of Nimbo, China and Jingying Pang of Xian, China, and four graduate students: Chia-Yin Chen, Hsin-I Guo, Shu-Hua Lin, and Hsing-Yi Tsai, all from Taiwan.
The two groups will be performing literature for four or more hands at one or two pianos. Among the music to be heard will be a Suite for piano, eight hands by Campbellsville University's Dr. David Hedrick which he composed last year.
Other selections will be by Amy Beach, Georges Bizet, Witold Lutoslawski, Darius Milhaud, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Modest Mussorgsky, Francis Poulenc and Franz Schubert.
The CU Piano Ensemble will also present a concert at the Sisters of Loretto Motherhouse in Loretto, Ky., on Wednesday, April 15 at 7 p.m. The program is open to the public.
