CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The final chemistry seminar of the spring semester at Campbellsville University is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, April 3 with Dr. Stuart Burris, formerly of Campbellsville, presenting. The session is in room 15 of the Administration Building on the main campus of Campbellsville University.
Burris, who is an associate professor of analytical chemistry with Western Kentucky University's Chemistry Department, will be speaking on “Hydrogen Bonding in a Molecular Wheat Field: Probing the apparent surface pKas of acid-thiolate self-assembled monolayers.”
Everyone is invited to attend the session.
Burris is a 1989 graduate of Taylor County High School.
He received his bachelor of science in chemistry in 1993 from Western Kentucky University and his Ph.D. in analytical electrochemistry from North Carolina State University in 1998.
He taught on Belmont University's chemistry and physics faculty from 1998 to 2003 when he became a faculty member at Western Kentucky University's chemistry department.
