CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University is hosting the Future Educators of America Regional Conference 2008 on Friday, Oct. 31.
Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University, will give a welcome to those attending. His welcome will begin the opening session at 9:15 a.m. in the Student Activities Center.
Opening remarks will be given by Dr. Brenda A. Priddy, dean of the School of Education at Campbellsville University; and Candace Souder, program coordinator, with Transition to Teaching, Kentucky Department of Education.
Refreshments will be offered at 8 a.m. in the Student Activities Center with registration beginning at 8:15 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. when the opening session begins.
Campus tours will be given at 10 a.m.
Breakout sessions includes ones on Diversity in Education by Perry Thomas, Campbellsville University's head football coach, in the Student Activities Center; Getting In and Paying for College by Chris Tolson, director of financial aid, in the Ransdell Chapel Conference Room; What High School Students Need to Know About Preparing to be a Teacher! with a panel of pre-service teachers, in the Little Auditorium; and Jane Eller, executive director of the Kentucky Environmental Education Council, in the Student Union Building Atrium.
The break-out sessions begin at 10:40 a.m.
Dr. Donna Irwin, associate professor of education, is the conference coordinator.
Chad Floyd, instructor in percussion and assistant marching band director, and the CU Steel Drum Band, will present entertainment during the closing session.
There will be competitions in impromptu speaking and essay and multi-media scrapbook.
