CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Each year Campbellsville University shows her appreciation for new and returning students and their families the month after classes start.
This year, festivities will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13, which include a barbecue, comedy show, tailgate and football game.
The Family Weekend Barbecue will be held on Montgomery Library Lawn Friday, Sept. 12 from 4:30 to 6:30. Shannon T. Clark, director of alumni relations at CU, said parents and family members wishing to attend the barbecue will need to purchase tickets, which are $7 each and can be purchased through CU's Office of Development by calling (270) 789-5211.
Clark said students with meal plans will not need a ticket as this meal will serve as the students' dinner.
Following the barbecue, the annual Dave & Ed Show will be held in the Ransdell Chapel beginning at 7:30 p.m.
According to Andrew Ward, director of student activities and intramurals at CU, the Dave & Ed Show is “one of the more popular campus traditions.”
The free show features hosts Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, and Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries, in their alter egos, with students performing routines, skits and lip syncing songs for cash prizes.
“The students really enjoy it, and families are welcome to attend the show also,” Ward said.
