CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University has been ranked fourth among the top 50 most affordable Christian colleges in the United States by the independent researchers of Christian Universities Online.
Christian Universities Online is an independent online resource that researches and ranks Christian higher education in the United States. In addition, it provides reviews, information about Christian scholarships and financial aid, along with other resources for students.
According to the organization's announcement, “College affordability is an idea that is more helpful to quantify than simply considering the tuition of the institution of your choice.”
Campbellsville University President Michael V. Carter said, “We are very excited about this ranking. Coupled with Campbellsville University graduates having the lowest student debt among Kentucky colleges, except for Alice Lloyd and Berea, this validates the dedication of CU faculty, staff and coaches who put students first every day.
“We strive for innovative programs in small class sizes at the most competitive prices,” he said.
Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, said, “Affordability is an important consideration for students as they make a choice of where to attend. Being ranked as the fourth most affordable Christian universities in America is further recognition of how hard we work at Campbellsville University to provide each of our students with an individualized and maximized financial aid package.
“Coupled with the low student debt that our graduates have, as recognized statewide and nationally as well, CU is really becoming known as one of the most affordable Christian universities of excellence in the nation. We are very pleased with this latest recognition.”
Schools researched for the top 50 were all accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) or a member/affiliate of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU), which Campbellsville University is.
The average net price data used in this ranking came from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). They set a lower limit on the student population at 1,000, referenced through the NCES.
U. S. News & World Report has ranked CU at 69th in the top regional universities in
the south, 70th in the nation in Best Online Graduate Education Programs, and 79th
