CU piano ensemble to hold spring concert March 20

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville University Piano Ensemble will present its Spring Concert on Thursday, March 20 at 8 p.m. at the Gosser Fine Arts Center in The Gheens Recital Hall. Gosser Fine Arts Center is located at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

Five students will be participating in this semester's ensemble including Steven Adams (Bardstown, Ky.), Colleen Ames (Elizabethtown, Ky.), Hsin-I Guo (Tainan, Taiwan), Jingying Pang (Xian, China) and Jaclyn White (Paducah, Ky). The literature will be played by four or more hands at one and two pianos.

The program will include literature by Edvard Grieg's “Peer Gynt Suite No. 1,” selections from Jacques Ibert's “Histories,” two movements from “Jeux d'Enfants” by Georges Bizet, and a movement from a Sonata by Johann Christian Bach, all for piano, four hands.

Also, Dianne Rahbee's “Three Close Friends” and Ralph Manuel's “Ever Joyful,” both for piano, six hands; and the Rondo by Bedrich Smetana for two pianos, eight hands.

The Piano Ensemble will also present their program at the Loretto Motherhouse on April 2.
