CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's Summer Education Experience (SEE) helped 14 students from Kentucky, Georgia and South Carolina a head start on their college career in July.
The program allows the students opportunities to grow academically and socially.
The students were chosen from applications to the program.
The students began each day with a devotion led by various university faculty and staff. They studied math under Ron Rafferty, an adjunct instructor who also is a member of the CU Board of Trustees; English taught by Dale Furkin, instructor in English at CU, and Tina Propes, part-time coordinator of First Year Experience, who taught university success skills.
In the evening, the students participated in various activities such as cookouts, kickball games, movie and salsa dance lessons with Hannah Baird, SEE activity director.
The students also participated in a mission project at the Nashville Rescue Mission
in Nashville, Tenn.
They participated in the LINC student orientation program while on campus and also
visited local churches.
On the last day of the program, students were given a placement test in which all tested out of one or more remedial courses.
