New media and general education classes will be offered from June 8 through July 9 at the Noe Center.
The classes are a group of blended courses; some face-face and some online components. Yet, all of the courses are involving communication.
The tentative list of courses to be offered include: MAC 175 Broadcasting and Digital Media; ENG 111 Composition I; CHS 130 Christ Culture and Social Media; BA 310 Business Management; FLM 330 Producing Films for the Internet; MAC 330 Photography; MAC 140 Introduction to Communication and HP 325 sport and media.
Each course will meet four hours in the morning, one day per week.
The cost is $375 for each three-hour course. The cost for books and class materials is not included in tuition.
These courses are available for anyone ranging from juniors and seniors in high school, to Somerset Community College students and to Campbellsville University students in the Pulaski, Wayne, McCreary and Russell county areas.
Dr. Keith Spears, vice president for graduate and professional studies, said, “The Summer Institute has been developed to help high school and community college students who are interested in communication to get an early start on their baccalaureate degree program. We have concentrated on mass communication and interpersonal communication because these are fundamental to the success in a collegiate environment.”
Campbellsville University formed a partnership with Forcht Broadcasting for the Institute. “We are excited about the partnership that we have developed with Forcht Broadcasting,” Spears said.
“Not only do they have professionals who are helping to spread the word, but they also will be augmenting the instruction as professors.”
