CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — It's that time in the semester when Campbellsville University's theater department entertains with another production.
The department will present “The Ver**zon Play” in the Russ Mobley Theater in the Alumni Building at 114 University Drive, Campbellsville. The show will begin at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21, 22, and 23. On Sunday, Feb. 24, the show will begin at 2:30 p.m.
“The Ver**zon Play” follows Jenni Jensen as she calls customer service because all she wanted was to fix a minor problem with her cell phone bill. Instead she is sucked into a vortex of unimaginable horror. Now Jenni wants revenge - or to get her cell phone service turned back on.
The show is part thriller, part screwball comedy and part based on actual events that have undoubtedly happened to you.
The cast include the following: Jenni - Diandra Cahall, Lexington, Ky.; Anissa - Olivia Helm, Elizabethtown, Ky.; Ingrid/Cydney - Janae Boling, Crestwood, Ky.;
Jerry - James Mattingly, Danville, Ky.; Carol K. Anderson - Noah Hutchins, Springfield, Ky.; Lars - CJ Calhoun, Frankfort, Ky.; Wanda - Jaleel Cowan, Campbellsville, Ky.;
Bryce - Nathan Puckett, Bardstown, Ky.; Ensemble - Daniel Bannister, Glasgow, Ky., and Holly Jo Evans, Barbourville, Ky.
Starr Garrett, director of the theater and associate professor of theater, is the director. Natalie Shadrick of Paducah, Ky. is the stage manager. The sound and costume designer is Nathan Allen, assistant professor of theater. Assisting with costumes is Haley Saylor of Campbellsville, Ky. Cheryl Brumley, instructor in theater arts, is the prop manager. Amanda Frye of Franklin, Ky. is the sound technician. Matt Nall, technical director, is the director of set construction, and the producer is Andrew Ward of Town Hall Productions.
“The Ver**zon Play” is by Lisa Kron and is presented by Campbellsville University Theater, Town Hall Productions and Community Trust Bank. The play's world premiere was in the 2012 Humana Festival for New American Plays at Actors Theater of Louisville.

Tickets are on sale now. General admission will be $10. For Campbellsville University employees, military, seniors (65 and up) or children (12 and under) tickets are $7. For Campbellsville University employees, tickets are $5. For Campbellsville University students, admission is free with ID.
