CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Morgan Bullock of Frankfort, Ky., a 2011 graduate of Campbellsville University's School of Education, has received a $500 “Teacher of Tomorrow” scholarship from the Kentucky Association of Professional Educations (KAPE). These scholarships are dedicated to educators who are in various phases of their education.
Bullock wants to teach social studies, the subject she loved most in high school.
Dr. Wendy Davis, associate professor of history, said, “Morgan worked closely with me as a student and as an organizing officer of the Campbellsville University Collegiate Historians, and I can, without hesitation, state that she has been the best education student I have had in 15 years of teaching at the collegiate level. She has a passion for teaching that is rarely seen in students.”
She maintained a GPA of 3.89 while playing softball for the CU Lady Tigers and participating in the ROTC program.
Her desire is to participate in Teach America, spending two years in the Appalachian Region. “I want to change the direction of students' lives and give them opportunities that teachers gave me. I have realized over the past four years of school at Campbellsville University that I want nothing more than to be a teacher,” Bullock said.
Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,500 students offering 63 undergraduate options, 17 master's degrees, five postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
