Campbellsville University will graduate 193 students Dec. 13

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville University will hold two commencement exercises Friday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, when 193 graduates will receive diplomas.

The 2 p.m. commencement ceremony will be for the bachelor of science and bachelor of science in business administration graduate candidates, and the 4 p.m. ceremony will be for all associate, bachelor of arts, bachelor of music, bachelor of science in nursing, bachelor of social work and all master degree candidates.

In total, there will be 193 graduates graduating between the two commencement ceremonies. The students will receive their diplomas upon completion of all graduation requirements.

Eight people will be graduating with an associate in science degree, 13 will be graduating with an associate of nursing degree, eight people will be graduating with a bachelor of arts degree, and three people will be graduating with a bachelor of music degree.

There will be 72 people graduating with a bachelor of science degree, 16 with a bachelor of social work degree, 13 with a bachelor of science in business administration degree and five with a bachelor of science in nursing degree.

There will be 10 people graduating with a master's of arts and organizational leadership degree, 12 people graduating with a master's of business administration degree, one person will be graduating with a master's of music in church music and three people will be graduating with a master's of music in performance.

There will be eight people graduating with a master's of social work degree, five with a master's of science degree, there will be 11 people graduating with master's of theology degree, there will be three people graduating with a master of arts degree, and two people will be graduating with a teacher leader master degree.

The Rev. Joel Carwile, pastor of Valley View Church in Louisville, will receive an honorary doctorate of divinity in the 2 p.m. ceremony, and the Rev. John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president, who also pastors Saloma Baptist Church, will receive an honorary doctorate of public service degree at the 4 p.m. ceremony.

The Office of Alumni Relations will be hosting a graduation lunch for all December graduates and their friends and families on Friday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Winters Dining Hall. Each student will receive three tickets, one for the graduate and two for guests. Additionally tickets may be bought for $10 each. Children ages 6 and under will be allowed to eat at no cost and children ages 7-10 can purchase a ticket to eat for $5.

You may pick your tickets up in the Office of Alumni Relations in the administration building prior to graduation or the tickets will be sent to the graduate's UPO.

Candidates participating in the 2 p.m. ceremony need to check in at the Davenport Student Commons at 1:15 p.m., and candidates participating in the 4 p.m. ceremony need to check in at 3:15 p.m. in the Davenport Student Commons.

The graduate candidates will be receiving their name cards and will participate in the graduate walk with Dr. Michael V. Carter, president, across campus.
