CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -Kenneth Stein, who serves as organist and choirmaster at Christ Episcopal Church in Bowling Green, Ky., will be presenting Campbellsville University's next Noon Organ Recital on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 12:20 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.
Everyone is welcome to the free concert.
Stein is the accompanist for the choirs at Bowling Green High School, the organ instructor for Western Kentucky University, the organist for St. Joseph Catholic Church (Bowling Green) and collaborative artist for the WKU Chorale and SOKY Choral Society.
Stein was born, raised and educated in New Jersey and has held posts as organist and/or choir director in churches in New Jersey, California, Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky.
He graduated from Westminster Choir College with degrees in church music and organ performance and was selected as winner of the Alexander McCurdy competition in organ. He has earned the Associate Certificate of the American Guild of Organists.
Stein's involvement with the American Guild of Organists has included serving three terms as dean for two different chapters and as Chapter Liaison for the National Convention in 2012, held in Nashville, Tenn. Between 1999 and 2001 he worked for the Milnar Organ Co. of Eagleville, Tenn. He has published a website featuring the pipe organs and churches of middle Tennessee, southern Kentucky, and beyond: photographybystein.com.
The Ransdell Chapel organ is an 1894 Farrand and Votey Organ enlarged to 51 ranks by Moeller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies.
