Campbellsville University to present evening of Brazilian music

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's School of Music is presenting “Brazilian Music in Concert” at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10 in The Gheens Recital Hall of the Gosser Fine Arts Center at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville.

The concert is an event that reunites musicians in a celebration of the diversity and beauty of Brazilian music, according to Denis Santos, adjunct instructor in music.

This year's concert will feature Gabriela Batista of Vitoria, Brazil on cello and piano; Carla Farias of Joao Pessoa, Brazil on piano; Andrey Concalves of Vitoria, Brazil on bass; Margareth Miguel of Sao Paulo, Brazil, voice; Higo and Irailda Rodrigues of Recife, Brazil on piano;

Cristina Soares of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on percussion; Teresa Tedder of Campbellsville on piano; Joanna Ximenes of Louisville on piano; Matews Tomaz of Patos, Brazil on guitar; and the Almeida Duo: Saulo deAlmeida of Rio de Janiero, Brazil Saulo DeAlmeida on cello and bass, and Denis Santos of Ceara, Brazil on flutes, among other students.

The concert is free and open to the public.
