Campbellsville University to present ‘Antigone’ Feb. 20-23

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.— Tickets are on sale for the Campbellsville University Theater Department production of the play “Antigone” by Sophocles in the Russ Mobley Theater Thursday, Feb. 20, Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22, all at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2:30 p.m.

For general admission, tickets will cost $10. For senior, ages 65 and over, tickets will cost $7. For children, ages 12 and under, tickets will cost $5. If you are coming from out of town, you qualify for the out-of-town special.

“The CU Theater Department is excited to bring you the adapted version of Sophocles' Greek tragedy ‘Antigone.' This play has a cast that will dazzle,” according to Starr Garrett, director of theater who is serving as artistic director of the play.

Megan Kist of Elizabethtown, Ky., will play Antigone; Creon is played by Ian Shepard of Somerset, Ky., the chorus is by Michaela Parker of Hopkinsville, Ky. Other cast members are: Haemon played by Tyler Abney of Somerset, Ky.; Eurydice played by Jordan McMurray of Greenwood, Ind.; Ismene played by Shelby Knuckles of Elkton, Ky.; Nurse played by Alia McClendon of Radcliff, Ky.; Messenger I played by Michael Jennings of Edmonton Ky.; and the three guards are played by Raleigh Abbott of Powder Springs, Ga., Tyler Litton of Hodgenville, Ky., and Zach Wilson of Campbellsville, Ky.

In addition to Garrett, production credits are by: Nathan Allen of Lexington, as technical director; and Andrew Ward/Town Hall Productions of Campbellsville, marketing; Jennifer Coffey of Louisville, stage manager; Amy Lair of Monticello, Ky., assistant stage manager; Sarah Farrell of Hamersville, Ohio, box office; Steven Jospur of Friendswood, Texas, lights; Becca Noel of Bardstown, Ky., sound; Jacqueline Beaty of Albany, Ky., costumes; and Jordan McMurray of Greenwood, Ind., props.
