Campbellsville University to host Josh Duncan at organ recital

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Josh Duncan will be presenting Campbellsville University's first Noon Organ Recital of the spring semester Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 12:20 p.m. in Randell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.

He will be performing works by Clarence Eddy, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Robert Lau, George Thalben-Ball and Dietrich Buxtehude.

The concert ends at 12:50 p.m. in time for those attending to return to work. Everyone is invited.

Duncan is the choirmaster and organist of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Louisville where he has served since 2013. He's originally from Georgia and holds degrees from Andrew College and Georgia Southwestern State University.

He has also served churches in the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia as well as the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. While living in Atlanta, Duncan served on the Diocesan Commission on Music under the leadership of Bishop J. Neil Alexander from 2009 until 2013. Major teachers include Egbert Bacon, Fletcher Anderson, Timothy Wissler and Bruce Neswick.

Duncan is a board member of the Sewanee Church Music Conference, the longest running church music conferences in the United States and sits on the executive board as treasurer of Orchestra Enigmatic, a small new music ensemble in Louisville.

In addition to his church duties, Duncan is also a business administrator for D.C. Schroth Organ Builders and is completing an accounting degree in his spare time.

Later in February, Duncan is traveling in Ireland and Scotland with the Bellarmine University Oratorio Society to accompany the choir in venues such as Maynooth University in County Kildare, Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin and St. Anne's Cathedral in Belfast.

The series provides organ music from the 1894 Farrand and Votey Organ in Ransdell Chapel which is enlarged to 51 ranks by Moeller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies.
