CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University will host the Collingsworth Family Concert on Friday, April 26 at 8 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky. The concert will follow the annual Derby Rose Gala, a luncheon held to raise scholarship money for Campbellsville University students.
Entering their 33rd year of ministry, the Collingsworth Family is a full-time ministry that has expanded from the original two members, Phil and Kim, to include their four children, Brooklyn, Olivia, Courtney and Phillip.
The ministry began in August 1986 at a church camp in Petersburg, Mich. and has since grown to allow the family to travel nationally as well as internationally.
According to their website, “Their constant, persistent attention to cutting-edge arranging, musical excellence, and a proper balance of spiritual emphasis are the keys to success God has helped them tap.”
Throughout their journey, Phil and Kim have had many job offers and have always maintained a public performance ministry. For the first 14 years this included musical performances at church camps and extended revivals.
By 2000, Phil and Kim had transitioned into an all-concert ministry and now maintain a business relationship with some of Nashville's top producers, Wayne Haun and David Clydesdale.
The Collingsworth family takes great joy in bringing the word of God to their audiences through their musical performances. Phil and Kim strongly believe in the power of prayer so, even with their busy schedule, they still take time every week to stop and hold private prayer meetings.
Since 2006, Phil, Kim and their children have received multiple awards, in many cases, more than one a year. Among these honors are Mixed Group of the Year, Musician of the Year and Young Artist of the Year from Singing News Fan Awards. They have also received honors from the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards, Ovation Awards and various other events.
The family loves making music, traveling and preforming. However, using the talents that God blessed them with to bring praise and glory to Him is the highlight of, and main principle behind, what they do.
Tickets for the performance will be $25 per person and can be purchased by contacting Campbellsville University's Office of Development at (270) 789-5211 or online at https://commerce.cashnet.com/cashnetg/selfserve/storehome.aspx.
