CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.— Campbellsville University's graduate 20st century music class this semester at Campbellsville University will be holding a recital on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall. Everyone is invited to the free concert.

The Gheens Recital Hall is inside Gosser Fine Arts Center located at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville.
The class will be presenting representative pieces from the era including works by Henry Cowell, Paul Hindemith, Bela Bartok, Emma Lou Diemer, Jacques Ibert and others.

“It is a class project of literature not frequently heard in recital,” Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, said.

“Many students and teachers shy away from 20th century music, partly because it is the most diversified of all classical literature and partly because there is a strong emphasis by many composers upon dissonance,” he said.

There are 10 students in the class from five different countries. Each one of them will be participating in the recital. They are: Maria Constanza Boso Galli of Argentina, Maria Milagros Boso Galli of Argentina, Claudiane Barros of Brazil, Guang Jin of South Korea, Andrey Goncalves of Brazil, Pei-Ju Lai of Taiwan, Ching-Hao Lin of Taiwan, Eun-Sil Park of South Korea, Danielle Souza of Brazil and Jianjia Wang of China.

The students will be playing pieces on the piano, violin, bassoon and double bass.
