CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - “A Call to Thanksgiving” is the title of Campbellsville University's Dr. Michael V. Carter's address at chapel Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.
Carter, who is in his 15th year as president of Campbellsville University, will be part of a program that is planned by the Robertson Worship Committee.
The Rev. John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president, will explain the work of the committee.
The Rev. and Mrs. R. Boyd Robertson established the Reuben and Jewel Robertson Worship Endowment whose purpose is to encourage authenticity and vitality in the corporate worship of Baptist people.
Students Katy Johnson and Katy Coury, both of Campbellsville, Amber Hurm of Philpot, Ky., Beth McConnell of Tompkinsville, Ky. and Kassie Little of Brookport, Ill. will give a brief history of Thanksgiving from the history department.
The Campbellsville University Chorale will present an anthem of praise called “Glorious Everlasting,” and Dr. Tony Cunha, dean of the School of Music, will lead in a hymn of Thanksgiving called “Make Me a Channel of Blessing.”
The theater department will give a dramatic reading of various biblical scriptures, and Marilyn Goodwin, assistant professor of early childhood education, will give a report on Operation Christmas Child.
The closing anthem will be “For Unto Us a Child is Born” by the Chorale from “Messiah.”
Dr. Shane Garrison, assistant professor of educational ministries, will give the benediction. Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, will play the prelude and postlude.
