“Campbellsville University is pleased to be featuring our local schools in a series called ‘Education Today in Campbellsville-Taylor County,'” said Chowning. “The purpose of this series of interviews with the principals of the schools in each system is to help bring attention to the many positive things that are going in the schools,” he said. “Our local schools are working hard to provide quality educational opportunity to our children and young people,” Chowning said. “In an era when too much attention is given to the negative aspects of education, we want to affirm that positive educational initiatives are ongoing in Taylor County, Campbellsville Independent and Kentucky Christian schools.” Chowning said, “Campbellsville University works closely with these and other area school systems. Our students, faculty, and staff are very much involved in the schools - as parents, supporters, volunteers and as resource people. “We look forward to broadcasting this series of interviews with school administrators in our three local school systems and highlighting their plans for 2007-2008. “It is our hope that these interviews will be beneficial to parents and others involved in the schools.” The dates the shows will air are as follows: Campbellsville Independent School System - Sunday, July 15, 8 a.m.; Monday, July 16, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Wednesday, July 18, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Taylor County School System - Sunday, July 22, 8 a.m.; Monday, July 23, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Wednesday, July 25, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Kentucky Christian School - Sunday, July 29, 8 a.m.; Monday, July 30, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Campbellsville University (Carter, Tennant and Cheatham interviews plus Walters and Kelly interviews) - Sunday, Aug. 5, 8 a.m.; Monday, Aug. 6, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. For more information about the shows, contact Chowning at (270) 789-5520 or Jim Wooley, director of broadcast services, at (270) 789-5210.
