CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Campbellsville University Theater and the Children's Theater Class are presenting “Pickle-Chiffon Pie.” They will be touring schools, performing at the Taylor County Public Library, and have a public performance on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Russ Mobley Theater.
This play is geared toward second and third grade students but will be enjoyed by older and younger students too. The public performance is general admission seating and all tickets are $5.
“Pickle-Chiffon Pie” is based on the book by Jolly Roger Bradfield and was first published in 1967. In this story there is a king who has a beautiful daughter who has many men who want to marry her. The king chooses three of the best suitors and gives them each a task to go into the forest and bring back the most “marvelous, amazing” thing. The daughter brings the suitors to dinner. The king loves to eat pickle-chiffon pie, and he wants his daughter to marry one suitor so he can only share with one person and not with various suitors.
Campbellsville University students who will be performing are Hollie Nall, a junior from Elizabethtown, Ky.; Sarah Durham, a senior from Campbellsville; Tanner Reed, a senior from Campbellsville; CJ Calhoun, a sophomore from Frankfort, Ky.; Kaya Taylor, a freshman from Vine Grove, Ky., and Diandra Sallee, a freshman from Nicholasville, Ky.
