CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University professor emerita Nevalyn Price Moore
will present the Noon Recital Series at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 in Ransdell Chapel
at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
The concert lasts until 12:50 p.m. and is open to the public free of charge.
She will be performing on the 1894 Farrand and Votey Pipe Organ that was enlarged and rebuilt by Moller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies. It has three manuals, pedalboard and 51 ranks.
Moore will be playing works by Benedetto Marcello, David Johnson, Joyce Jones, Gordon Young, Sigfrid Karg-Elert, her brother Milburn Price, and her husband Dr. James Moore, professor of music at Campbellsville University.
Moore, a native of Ellisville, Miss., taught on the School of Music faculty for 28 years. She has presented keyboard and handbell workshops, has served as an adjudicator for festivals and competitions, and has served as a church organist in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi.
She has performed and presented lectures at conventions of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, Music Teachers National Association, Music Educators National Conference and the American Guild of Organists.
Moore was selected as the 2002 Kentucky Music Educators Association College/University Teacher of the Year. She was named the 2006 Campbellsville University Distinguished Professor, the highest honor given a tenured faculty member and was the recipient of the 2002 Campbellsville University Academic Excellence Award given annually to a non-tenured faculty member.
She received the 2007-2008 Faculty Servant Leadership Award from CU.
Moore received a bachelor of arts in music degree from Judson College in Alabama and
a master of music in organ performance from the University of Mississippi.In addition,
she studied at Florida State University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
and Westminster Choir College.
She and her husband have five children and seven grandchildren.
