CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Last year's Homecoming was virtual due to COVID-19, but plans this year revolve around the theme “Together Again.”
Although some events have been canceled due to COVID- 19, most are still on at the time these stories were written. “We are all so excited to be able to welcome alumni and friends back to campus for Homecoming 2021!,” Ashley Fox, director of alumni relations, said.
“Having everyone ‘together again' really keeps the traditions of Homecoming alive and brings a sense of community and support for all of our students, faculty, staff and alumni.”
Fox said there will be a few changes to the Festival on Stapp Lawn this year. The first stop for all alumni should be the registration tent where staff will be giving away canvas bags for all those who register.
“We are also eager to welcome Taylor Belle's Ice Cream Truck, which will be giving free scoops of ice cream to the first 200 people. Kona Ice will also be available for purchase after your meal under the tent,” Fox said.
Another new addition to the festivities this year is a caricature artist. Andy Cundiff, an alumnus, will be drawing caricatures for a suggested $10 donation to the scholarship fund in memory of former professor the late Tommy Clark.
Fox said, “Of course the usual events will still be taking place, such as the car show and parade.”
With the ever-changing situation with COVID-19, Fox suggests visiting the website to stay up to date with all Home- coming events and information. Also, a schedule of events is printed on the ad on the back of this special section.
