CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University will hold her annual Family Weekend Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9 on campus at 1 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.
Darryl Peavler, director of alumni relations at Campbellsville University, said this special weekend is a time for parents and relatives to visit their son or daughter at the university and to be entertained by several events happening on campus.
Peavler said there will a Pre-show Party at 6:30 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, before the traditional event, The Dave & Ed Show begins at 7:30 p.m.
There will be music, food, prizes and more at the Pre-show Party. You can also you're your picture made with Clawz, the university's mascot.
This year, the cast of Tuesday Night Live (CU's spin off of Saturday Night Live) will join Dave (Walters) & Ed (Pavy) on the stage for an “evening of side-splitting comedy,” Peavler said.
On Saturday, at 9 a.m., there will be a Family Weekend Motorcycle Ride through the Taylor County countryside with Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries.
The ride will depart from Books n Beans at the Montgomery Library, 116 University Drive, Campbellsville, at 9 a.m.
On Saturday, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and continuing until noon, you are invited to More Than a Brunch in Winters Dining Hall, 411 N. Columbia Ave., Campbellsville, in the E. Bruce Heilman Student Complex. The brunch is available for $6.50 to parents and guests.
You will be able to visit with Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of the university, and members of the faculty and staff. Campbellsville University organizations will be set up to provide information about services available on and off campus.
The Chowning Art Shop, 503 N. Columbia Ave., Campbellsville, will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The shop features artwork from Campbellsville University faculty, staff and alumni.
At 12:01 p.m., the Fighting Tigers Football Team will play Warner University on Citizens Bank Field at Tiger Stadium at 204 Tiger Way, Campbellsville.
