CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's chapel series for the spring semester 2020 has been announced, according to Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries at the university.
All chapels are free and open to the public each Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
All chapel programs are televised live on WLCU (Comcast Cable channel 10 and digital channel 15) and are streamed live on the internet at wlcutv.com.
The theme for the semester is “Jesus Our Peace” taken from John 16:33.
The schedule for the speakers is as follows:
- Jan. 22 - Dr. William Turner, professor, writer, speaker and consultant, “Martin Luther King Jr.” service;
- Jan. 29 - Dr. Scott Wigginton, professor of pastoral ministries and counseling at Campbellsville University; Dr. Ken Hollis, associate professor of theology in marriage and family therapy, and Whitney Brainard, a licensed marriage and family therapist who works at Lighthouse Counseling at Campbellsville Baptist Church and Beacon of Hope at Beacon Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, panel discussion on “Depression & Anxiety;”
- Feb. 5 - Dr. Lewis Brogdon, visiting professor of preaching and black church studies at Baptist Seminary of Kentucky and chair of religious studies department at Simmons College;
- Feb. 12 - Dr. Daryl Davis, entertainer, author and lecturer;
- Feb. 19 - Dr. Joseph L. Owens, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, Lexington, and CU Trustee “Black History Month;”
- Feb. 26 - Dr. Ken Brockman, Noble Prize winner and retired director of the division of nuclear installation safety for the international atomic energy agency;
- March 11 - Dr. Adam Harwood, professor of church history at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, “Baptist Heritage Week;”
- March 18 - The Rev. Jeff Gaines, pastor of Christ Church, Winchester, Ky.;
- March 25 - The Rev. Alex Lockridge, pastor of First Baptist Church, Morehead, Ky.;
- April 1 - Dave LaBelle, photojournalist-in-residence, CU;
- April 8 - Holy Week Chapel, the Rev. Choe Sergent, pastor of Junction City Baptist Church and associate vice president for university outreach at Campbellsville University;
- April 15 - Dr. Joel Carwile, pastor of First Baptist Church Athens, Ala. and CU trustee; and
- April 22 - Awards Day.
