CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's administration and enrollment office have announced the university is now offering a tuition guarantee for incoming freshman students.
“For over 100 years, Campbellsville University has been committed to educating and supporting underserved Kentucky students. CU firmly believes helping students and their families afford Christian higher education is essential to our mission. In furthering this mission, Campbellsville University is excited to enact the ‘CU Tuition Guarantee,'” Dr. H. Keith Spears, interim president, said.
The CU Tuition Guarantee provides 100% tuition coverage for all full-time and first-time students from Kentucky who are eligible for the Pell Grant and have a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA.
After a student receives all the federal and state aid possible including the Pell Grant, Kentucky Tuition Grant (KTG), College Access Program (CAP) and the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarships (KEES), Campbellsville University will scholarship the remaining amount up to 100% of cost of tuition.
“The CU Tuition Guarantee provides a level of security for qualified students who may still struggle with any remaining gaps in covering tuition costs. Any support we can provide to help students succeed is a good investment for CU,” Dr. Donna Hedgepath, provost and vice president for academic affairs, said.
The tuition guarantee is good for a total of four academic years as long as the student keeps a minimum 2.0 GPA and remains enrolled as a full-time student. This is applicable for freshman students enrolling in one of five Campbellsville University in-person locations: Campbellsville, Louisville, Harrodsburg, Somerset or Liberty.
“Capable, academically-prepared students from all parts of the Commonwealth are being overlooked and underserved,” Dr. Shane Garrison, vice president for enrollment services and professor of theology, said. “This has only amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic. Campbellsville University stands ready to support these students and families to ensure they are not left behind.”
Robyn Sollberger, director of financial aid, said, “The CU Tuition Guarantee will enable Campbellsville University to continue the mission of affordable and accessible education for our students. The CU Tuition Guarantee allows us to publicly state what we have already been providing for a large portion of our students for several years, that tuition is 100% covered for Pell-eligible Kentucky students with a high school GPA of 3.0. This is very exciting for CU as a whole, and the Office of Financial Aid is excited to share this with incoming students and families.”
Requirements for the tuition guarantee are as follows:
Must be a resident of Kentucky; must be a graduate of a Kentucky public or private high school or Kentucky based homeschool; must have a 3.0 cumulative unweighted GPA at the point of acceptance; must be a first-time, full-time freshman; must file the FAFSA each year; must be Pell Grant eligible each and every year; and must attend one of the Campbellsville University in-person locations.
Room, board, textbooks and fees are not included. Performance grants for athletics, theater, art, music, band, etc., and other awarded scholarships will be applied before the final financial aid award is presented.
