After graduating from Washington County High School in Springfield, KY, Mrs. Byarlay went on to receive her Associate of Arts degree from Sullivan University in Travel & Tourism. After college, she began working as a travel agent and eventually landed a customer service agent position with Delta Air Lines. She spent the next 15 years enjoying planning vacations and meeting people from all walks of life along with traveling the world.

After starting her family, Mrs. Byarlay switched gears and returned to college to complete an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Midway University. Several years later, she returned to college again to finish her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from American Sentinel University. Mrs. Byarlay spent 20 years working as a registered nurse in Pediatrics, Med-Surg, and Population Health. She offers two words of advice to college students, “It’s always possible, and never too late, to pursue your educational dreams.” And, “Education opens doors beyond what you can ever imagine.”

After taking early retirement in the nursing field, Mrs. Byarlay came to Campbellsville University Harrodsburg campus in October, 2023, serving as the Nursing Success Coach. In 2024, she took on an additional role as Academic Advising Coordinator for CU Harrodsburg. You can either find Mrs. B. at the School of Nursing building or Conover Center mentoring and advising students.

Mrs. Byarlay finds peace & joy in life by spending time with family, walking, gardening, cooking, attending bible study classes, and listening to Christian music. She has been married to her husband for 30 years and has two grown children.
