"The English department at CU has always felt more like a family than a part of school. My professors are not only trusted mentors and scholars whom I deeply respect, but they also treat me as a friend and show genuine interest in my life and aspirations. I’ve always felt a little insecure about majoring in English instead of something more socially valued like STEM, but getting to embrace my passion for this subject alongside faculty and peers who encourage my goals and expand my knowledge has given me the confidence to pursue my dreams without hesitation. I never stop bragging about my love for this department to my friends and family, and honestly anyone who will listen. "The English program at Campbellsville University has truly been transformational for my life. I came to CU four years ago not knowing what I was going to be or do, and the program helped me find what I loved, along with inspiring my post-graduation and long-term career plans. I have grown.  I now have a comprehensive view of literary passages not only through a love for reading and learned critical analysis skills, but also through finding correlations between texts and recognizing how they shaped the past and modern world.  The English program at CU helped me, with the help of outstanding professors, “find my calling,” and set me up to succeed, not just during my time here, but when I graduate as well."

"During my sophomore year at CU, I switched to the English department because I wanted to study the ways people use storytelling, better understand it, and effectively create my own written work. I’ve never looked back. In our department, I found an amazing group of like-minded people with big ambitions and have learned so much about language, literature, and analytical thinking. The faculty here are easily the smartest people I know, and they’ve been so encouraging and supportive in pushing me to achieve my goals.
