Integrated curriculum
Anatomy and physiology complement each other in the human body, so we have designed our curriculum in a similarly connected fashion. Our curriculum offers fewer courses, combining scientific and clinical concepts from day one so students develop extensive knowledge and practical expertise that transcends college to career. As a result, graduates will demonstrate a mastery of complex concepts and relationships rather than simply memorizing facts.
Continuous clinical focus
Gaining clinical experience early and often will produce doctors who are capable, comfortable and confident in any setting. Students will gain the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes to expertly practice evidence-supported, patient-centered care in a rapidly evolving healthcare system.
Intensive business focus
Our expertly designed business courses offer students the management skills needed to thrive as a practitioner and a seasoned profitable business leader. More than half of chiropractors own their own practice, and the business thread teaches students how to set a clear vision, understand the numbers, create value, build trust, develop professional communication skills, and guide teams to peak performance.
Intentional leadership training
Our faculty have embedded leadership development modules throughout the curriculum. With a robust set of leadership skills and experience, graduates will be ready to promote, support and inspire health and well-being in the patients and communities they treat.
Study Plan
- Year One - Foundation: The first year of study incorporates basic science foundation courses with clinical
concepts, which makes learning meaningful and clinically applicable starting on the
first day as a doctoral student.
Classes include clinically oriented anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, hematology and immunology. - Year Two - Development: The second year builds on the sturdy basic sciences' foundational courses. Students
continue by developing reliable clinical skills in year two, honing problem solving
and critical thinking through case scenarios and close mentorship by highly experienced
faculty.
Classes include physical diagnosis and functional assessment, public health and epidemiology, diagnostic imaging, toxicology and pharmacology, and emergency procedures. - Year Three - Mastery: The last year is designed to build confidence and skill through purposeful experience.
The community-based clerkship provides students with close mentorship in a variety
of clinical and health care settings. Students work directly with clinical education
to tailor their experience to meet their professional goals. A series of business
courses accompany the clerkship complimenting clinical acumen with a strong business
sense.
Classes include active and passive therapeutics, clinical nutrition, business principles, case review, healthcare teams and leadership.
