CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Back by popular demand, Campbellsville University's director of student activities, Andrew Ward, will be performing, along with two of his friends, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” Jan. 13-15.
The concept is for three men to perform 37 shows of Shakespeare in less than two hours. There will be three performances: Friday and Saturday, Jan. 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 15 at 3 p.m., all in the Russ Mobley Theater of the Alumni Building at 114 University Drive, Campbellsville.
Tickets are $8, and you can make reservations by calling (270) 789-5161. All seating is general admission; however, making a reservation can ensure seating on the floor level.
Ward said, “If you love Shakespeare, you'll love this show; if you hate Shakespeare, you'll love this show!”
Ward, along with his friends, Kyle Biery, director of theater at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn., and Travis Stansell, a police officer, who has studied drama, from Morristown, Tenn., will perform 37 plays in 90 minutes.
Ward said the event, which is part of Campbellsville University's Welcome Week activities, is “Bigger and better than Barnum & Bailey, more mystifying than David Copperfield, the best Off-Broadway show to hit the area since ‘Cats!'”
He said the show was nominated for 14 Tony awards (not really, but should have been!), and “You'll laugh, and you'll cry.”
“Come and enjoy the funniest show to hit Kentucky in ages,” Ward said. “Don't be left out!”
