SOMERSET — A special event was held at Somerset Community College to honor graduates of Campbellsville University's Somerset Center. The six students, all graduates of CU's Criminal Justice Program, are: Jennifer Delaughter, Ferguson, Ky.; Erica Vaught, Science Hill, Ky.; Matthew Aaron, Albany, Ky.; Jerry Brumley, Somerset, Ky.; Larry Shreiner, Ferguson, Ky.; and Valerie Anderson, Eubank, Ky.
The guest speakers for the event, Dr. Tony Honeycutt, provost of Somerset Community College; and Dr. Jacqueline Sandifer, CU Criminal Justice program director; were introduced by Dr. Keith Spears, CU vice president for regional and professional education.
Honeycutt, speaking to the graduates said, “We are proud of you. Your accomplishments represent the best in the cooperative spirit that Somerset Community College and Campbellsville University have designed.”
In her address to the Criminal Justice graduates, Sandifer said, “You have proven yourselves and you have proven that the decision to bring the Criminal Justice program to Somerset was the right thing to do. You are breaking new ground and bringing a new perspective to the profession.”
Spears said that while Campbellsville University offers several degree completion programs at Somerset, this event was just for those finishing up their Criminal Justice degrees. He noted that in addition to the Criminal Justice Program, CU also offers Early Childhood Education, Social Work, and beginning in July, CU will offer its MBA Program in Somerset.
