Dr. Reese Land promoted to associate professor of music

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -Dr. Reese Land, assistant professor of music/trumpet at Campbellsville University, is promoted to associate professor of music, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.

Land has served at Campbellsville University since 2007.

He maintains an active trumpet studio with additional classroom responsibilities such as music appreciation for non-music majors, remedial music theory and brass methods for undergraduates, and a refresher course in music history for entering graduate students.

Land is an active chamber performer in the central Kentucky region and is often found playing in various ensembles in the area like the Louisville Bach Society, the Evansville Philharmonic, and most notably the Brass Company, a professional brass quintet.

He received his bachelor's degree in music from Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, N.C. in 1994, his Master of Music from the University of Louisville in 2002, and his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Ill. in 2007. All of his degrees are in trumpet performance.

Land is an honorary member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a member of the International Trumpet Guild, and serves annually as a music instructor on the staff of the Lions Club Camp Crescendo in Lebanon Junction, Ky.
