Campbellsville University will host Dr. Paul Marshall, senior fellow at the Hudson Institute's Center for Religious Freedom, at the upcoming KHIPP forum on Sept. 30 about Global Human Rights in 2014. The forum will be held in the Badgett Academic Support Center Banquet Hall at 5 p.m. located on the main campus.
Marshall has written and edited over 20 books on religion and politics with his specialties being religious freedom. Some of his recent work includes Persecuted: The Global Assault on Christians, Silenced: How Apostasy and Blasphemy Codes Are Choking Freedom, and Blind Spot: When Journalists Don't Get Religion.
He is the author of 700 articles where his writings have been translated into over 21 different languages including Japanese, Czech, and Norwegian. His work has been published in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Washington Times, Boston Globe, Reader Digest and many more famous publications.
Marshall has been a member of the Advisory Board of Harvard University's project on “religion and global politics” and is a member of the Religious Advisory Board of the Council on Foreign Relations.
He is in high demand for media appearances, lectures, and interviews on stations such as CBS, PBS, and FOX. Marshall has also been a frequent demand overseas in various broadcasting stations in Canada, Japan, and other countries. Marshall's current interests include research on international and religious freedom, its relation to freedom of speech and of the press, and of the situation of religious minorities.
