CU jazz orchestra to perform in concert April 19

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's School of Music will present the university's jazz orchestra in concert on Thursday, April 19 at 8 p.m.

The event will take place in The Gheens Recital Hall in CU's Gosser Fine Arts Center, located at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville.

Jennifer Tinnell, director of bands/instructor in music, will be conducting the orchestra as they play music from a variety of jazz styles including big band swing classics, vocal standards from Bobby Darin and Ella Fitzgerald, Latin, funk and pop charts.

Dr. Reese Land, associate professor of music/trumpet, will be performing on the trumpet with the orchestra as a special guest. Together Reese and the orchestra will perform one of “Doc” Severinson's, leader of The Tonight Show Orchestra, most famous hits, Stardust.

The event is free and the public is invited to attend. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
