Brian L. Shoemaker to speak at chapel Feb. 23

CAMPBELLSVILLE Ky.- Brian L. Shoemaker, an inspirational speaker, humorist and dramatist will speak at Campbellsville University's chapel service Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel, located at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
The event is free and open to the public.
Shoemaker has been an inspirational speaker for 40 years, since being voted his high school's “Funniest Senior” and the “Most Likely to become a Minister.”
Shoemaker currently serves as campus minister at the Christian Academy of Louisville. He is also the coach of the National Forensic League and of the Kentucky High School Speech League for the Christian Academy of Louisville.
The Rev. Gary Mounce, associate principal of Christian Academy of Louisville and a 1985 graduate of Campbellsville University, said, “No faculty member has ever observed Brian expressing anything but positive characteristics and selfless motivation… he goes above and beyond what is required.”
Shoemaker received his bachelor's degree from Cumberland College in 1979 where he majored in religion and minored in psychology. He went on to receive his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984. Shoemaker graduated with honors from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1996 with his doctorate in ministry.
Through his career, Shoemaker has served as the director of alumni affairs for Cumberland College and served as a minister of music and youth at North View Baptist Church in Lexington, East Audubon Baptist Church in Louisville, and East Patterson Road Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio. He also served as senior pastor at Buckner Baptist Church in LaGrange, Ky., Lyndon Baptist Church in Louisville, and Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Beavercreek, Ohio.
Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations. All chapels are open to the public free of charge and are televised live on WLCU (Comcast Cable channel 10) and are streamed live on the Internet.
