We are a church of about1000 adults and a youth group that averages around 100 students a week betweenmiddle school and high school.Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Pastor to leadour middle and high school ministry. The ideal candidate will be responsible foroverseeing all aspects of youth ministry, providing guidance, mentorship, and spiritualleadership to our young members. This individual will play a crucial role in cultivatingan environment that encourages spiritual growth, discipleship, and communityinvolvement among our youth.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all elements of youth ministry, including Sunday morning and evening programs, discipleship initiatives, church-wide events, and special youth-focused activities.
- Teach and communicate the Word of God in an engaging and relatable manner to challenge and inspire youth to grow in their faith and relationship with Christ.
- Develop and foster strong, caring, and supportive relationships with young individuals to guide them in their spiritual journey.
- Identify, equip, and empower student leaders within the ministry to actively participate and contribute to the growth of the youth community.
- Train and support current 20 adult leaders involved in the youth ministry, ensuring they are well-equipped to serve effectively. Recruit additional adult leaders to use their gifts, talents, and abilities to walk alongside students.
- Create opportunities for mission work and service projects, encouraging youth to use their gifts and talents to serve others.
- Collaborate with parents, providing resources and guidance to support them in nurturing their children’s faith at home.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Three years of experience working with middle and/or high school students in a church or parachurch setting. (Preferred but not required.)
- Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a passion for spiritual growth.
- Understanding of Christian doctrine and the ability to effectively communicate biblical principles to young individuals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and work collaboratively within a team environment.
