Greyline Station: Winterfest Internship

November-End of 2023

The Greyline Station Winter Intern is responsible for supporting the operations of events, activities and promotions at Greyline Station throughout the Holiday season.

General Description

The communications internship at Greyline Station is a part time, temporary position with 20 hours per week. The intern is responsible for helping with the execution of special events, programs, communications, operations of the ice skating rink, and promotions at Greyline Station. Some of this work will be conducted in the evening during the week and on the weekends.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Greyline Station Events and Promotions

Ensure the proper set up and support for all special events.

Holiday Block Party (December 1st)

  • Assist with promotions, outreach and communications prior to the event
  • Be on sight for day-of logistics

Beer Festival (December 2nd)

  • Assist with promotions prior to the event
  • Be on sight for day-of logistics and set up and tear down.

Sunday Series Holiday Market (November 26th, Dec 3rd, Dec 10th, Dec 17th)

  • Coordinate with non-profit partners and ensure they have a positive experience with the market.
  • Communicate and help with curation of pop up vendors for the markets.
  • Assist with marketing and outreach promotions for the market.
  • Be on sight for day-of logistics and set up and tear down.
  • Coordinate and ensure supplemental interactive activities at the event (bounce houses, live music, etc.)

Communications and PR

Assist with Greyline Station websites including program specific sites

  • Update vendor profiles for the Winter Market
  • Update ice rink hours, open skate times, skate rental cost webpage

Social Media

  • Facebook and Instagram assistance of the Greyline Station pages.
  • Work with Social Media manager to create cohesive and innovative social media campaigns to support the businesses within Greyline Station.

Values, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization.
  • Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and content curation software (Canva, Adobe Suite, Meta Ad Suite, Google Analytics)
  • Event planning experience is a plus
